Legal-ish
Usually legal documents are written in cold, third-person language. The rest of this site is written in the third-person, however I, JazzLad, want to make this perfectly clear. Copyright law allows me to forbid all use of these images (it's called 'all rights reserved') for about 100 years after I die (or longer if Disney keeps bribing politicians). I'm 35, so this could be a long time. Copyright law in the USA is broken.
Here are my terms in plain, simple English; there are only 2:
1. Please do not profit directly or indirectly from my images without paying me. This includes using my images as decor in a profit or non-profit business setting or in printed or electronic documents. This also includes hotlinking them on your own webpage or passing them off as your own work. The two exceptions to this are:
a. Individuals are more than welcome to use these images to decorate their personal workspaces and
b. Official entities and official representatives of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (who I encourage to contact me directly, I'm happy to share all of my work for this use) may use these images for any use they see fit.
If you are a business owner, you likely can afford a small amount to use the image(s) you desire to use; if you are a non-profit, a fledgling company or other that thinks you can't afford to pay for use, contact me. If I am moved by your situation, we can come to an agreement for as little as $1. I'm not out to get anyone.
In a perfect world, the second term would be completely unnecessary. In a perfect world, all would behave in a Christ-like manner. This isn't to say that non-Christians are inherently bad in any way, I have known Jews (for example) that lived in a Christ-like manner (though they would have referred to it differently). Christ taught us to 'Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.' I am not aware of any religion Christian or otherwise that teaches contrary to this, yet some misguided self-proclaimed Christians preach intolerance. Using hate-filled words and actions is no way to bring others unto Christ. We don't always have to agree with each other, but we are never justified in mistreating each other. Christ taught us to love each other. Even our enemies.
2. Be nice. You may not use these images in any way that could foreseeably cause someone to feel bad about themselves, their faith or that which is depicted. This includes, but is not limited to, pictures of Temples. This also includes, for example, pictures of my hometown. I don't live there anymore, but I still have loved ones that do and I will not have my images used in a way that disparages them or their city. Again, be nice. There is enough evil in the world, you do not need to add to it and you certainly do not have my permission to use my work to create it.
Finally, under term number 2, I choose to include parody in-so-much as the law permits me to do so on the list of things that could foreseeably cause someone to feel bad about one of the aforementioned and is therefore not a permitted use. If you honestly think about it, you can not help but agree that this is true. It is important enough to say one final time: be nice.
That's it; if you have any questions, please ask.
While it is not a requirement, I do ask that if you use any of my images you drop me a line to let me know how you used them. If I am sharing my work more-or-less freely, I do not think it is too much to ask that you let me know that you appreciated it. Again, I do not require it, but it is nice to do so.
