Selected Favourites

These are completely unedited and are not cropped (the finals will be).  They are only re-sized to facilitate uploading to this page.  I appreciated having the opportunity to to have a 'trial by fire' lesson on shooting portraits with my new camera, I think I learned a lot (I've shot portraits before, but this new camera is completely different than my previous one).  Some are, unfortunately, out of focus.  My camera has a focus tracking mode (something new to me, for continuous shots while we were moving) that was, unfortunately not enabled.  Also, the aperture-priority mode kept ignoring the fact that the flash was enabled, so I was shooting in full manual & not responding to lighting differences as the clouds changing the amount of light coming in the window.  I realized afterwards that the reason for this is likely due to the camera having a mode dedicated to wide open aperture + flash.  Gah, a little too late for these :)  I also decided that since I am cropping anyway, next time I would not bother to shoot any in the portrait orientation, I think the flash is more flattering in landscape.

So, I think we shot enough that you'll get what you need (I think there's a couple that are really cute), but after reviewing them, be honest.  If you want to re-shoot for a headshot, I will not be offended.

Feel free to share this link with anyone you like.  If you prefer, I'll replace these with the edited ones you select (and I can give you a shorter URL) if you want to be able to share them online with friends/family.  Just let me know.
